Samsung's latest flagship smartphone, the Galaxy S23 Ultra, has undoubtedly raised the bar for smartphone technology in 2023. With its powerful HP2 hardware and sleek design, it's no surprise that many users have fallen in love with this device. Unfortunately, however, Sammy is getting too comfortable, and there is something awful now.

Incompetent Software Team

One of the most disappointing aspects of the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra is the apparent incompetence of Samsung's software team. It's a shame that HP2 is not fully utilized due to poor software optimization. This has led to frustrating lags and glitches that can seriously detract from the overall user experience.

HDR Disappointment

The Galaxy S23 Ultra boasts a high dynamic range (HDR) camera feature, but unfortunately, it falls short in this area. In addition, the HDR mode often needs to be improved, leaving users disappointed with the quality of their photos. In particular, the camera tends to produce a white edge problem caused by HDR and a "sky fault" issue many users have experienced. In subsequent firmware updates, Samsung must address these problems to improve the camera's performance.

Night Mode Is Terrible

Another issue that users have noticed with the S23 Ultra is the strange performance of the night mode. While the dark parts of photos can be very dark, there is often a sense of blur on the whole image, which can be frustrating for those who enjoy taking pictures in low-light environments.

Lack of Innovation

While the S23 Ultra is undoubtedly impressive, Samsung risks getting too comfortable and needing to innovate more. Many Chinese smartphone brands are doing better, even in areas where Samsung has traditionally been strong, such as the screen. For example, recent new flagship phones like the OPPO Find X6 Pro have a peak brightness ranking of over 2400nit, while the Galaxy S23 Ultra only has a brightness of 1750nit.

In Conclusion

The Samsung S23 Ultra is a fantastic smartphone with plenty of strengths, but there is room for improvement. Samsung needs to optimize its software, improve the camera's HDR and night mode, and continue to innovate if it wants to stay ahead of the competition. Despite these criticisms, the S23 Ultra remains one of the best smartphones of 2023, and we look forward to seeing how Samsung continues to evolve this device in the future.
